I was looking for a quality 12-fret model for my inventory recently. I invested in this guitar expecting I would receive a quality-made and very competent instrument consistent with what I've learned to expect from C.F. Martin & Co. What I received instead, however, is a remarkable instrument, one with a HUGE, rich voice that plays and sounds like an instrument costing thousands more! The Martin Custom Shop HD-28VS offered here was produced as part of a 50 piece run done for Guitar Center in 2012. This lovely, 12-fret Slope D has: an Italian Alpine Spruce top; back and sides made of lovely Madagascar Rosewood; a select Mahogany modified V-shape neck; a Black Ebony fret board with 16" radius, diamond and square inlays and a 1.75" bone nut; a slotted headstock with side-mounted Waverly tuners; and a Black Ebony vintage belly bridge with drop-in long bone saddle and 2.25" string spacing. The tone and output of this instrument is astounding. When playing this guitar, I am immediately reminded as to why I favor 12-fret guitars. Whether playing finger-style or with a flat pick, this guitar delivers in spades. This guitar is in virtually unplayed condition, except for the aforementioned test play by me. I am not an authorized dealer and therefore cannot offer a manufacturer's warranty, but otherwise you will be receiving what is essentially a new instrument. Comes with it's original Geib style case in similarly mint condition. If you have been looking for an extremely lush sounding 12-fret instrument with plenty of punch, here is your guitar! Amazing....
