Description: Retrfofret Stock # 1536. National Triolian Model Resophonic Guitar (1931), made in Los Angeles, serial # 1979W, brown enamel finish, steel body, basswood neck, dyed maple fingerboard, hard shell case. A nice example of an early walnut finish National Triolian. Bound 12-fret neck, flat-cut F-holes, no-rib coverplate, serial number and "pat.apld.for" on top of headstock. With only moderate playwear this is a very well-preserved example but not "too clean to play". Great for many playing styles but truly excels for Blues playing, either fingerstyle or slide.Overall length is 38 1/2 in. (97.8 cm.), 14 1/16 in. (35.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 3/8 in. (8.6 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Overall excellent-, original except new nut and saddle. Minor wear to body finish with small dings and chips on edges. Back very clean with light edgewear. Noticeable player wear to coverplate and handrest, some plating loss to tailpiece. Decal intact but faded dark, play wear in fingerboard mostly on first three frets. Minor edgewear to peghead, some wear to finish on back of neck. Plays and sounds very well.
