Description

1978 maple-glo Rick 4001 in fantastic shape with a beautiful Mapleglo finish. It has the classic look, superb playability, and tone to match its cool vintage vibe! They are long loved and massively appreciated by some of the best bassists ever: Paul McCartney, Bruce Foxton of the Jam, Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Roger Waters, Lemmy of Motorhead, Mike Mills, Rick James, Peter Hook, and countless other great rock and alternative bands! This one has a serial number of RH4400 on its Rick-O-Sound stereo output jack plate. The bridge pickup has that growl and bite you’d expect from a Rick, with the neck pickup getting a nice deep tone. The bridge pickup also still has the original pickup cover attached. The neck sports a light rosewood finger board with 20 frets. It has a 33 ½” scale and measures 1 11/16th” at the nut. The frets have some wear but the bass still plays great. It has been set-up by our in-house tech and plays very comfortably. The finish is in excellent condition with minimal light wear. The bass weighs in at a hair over 9 ½ lbs. There's good reason these Ricks are so sought after. Strap it on and let loose your inner Lemmy! Comes with original hard shell case
