  • Description: This is a 2004 RIckenbacker 620 in the rare and desirable Montezuma Brown, or "Monty Brown" finish. A three-tone sunburst in the vein of 60's Fender® guitars, MB was offered as Rickenbacker's Color Of The Year for 2003, and was extended by popular demand through 2004. It remains one of the more sought-after Rickenbacker finishes in recent history. Players who have picked up one of Rickenbacker's 330 or 360 hollowbody models, for example, are typically in awe of the gleaming finish and unparalleled build quality, but these guitars often fall flat as performance instruments, for players who are used to the typical Fender® and Gibson faire. Well, we're here to tell you that the 620 - especially *this* 620 - is not your typical Rick. It has gobs of sustain, even when bending in the upper reaches of the beautifully finished bubinga fretboard - all this in spite of having impossibly fast action. The neck "Higain" pickup dlivers pure "woman-tone"; the bridge Higain pickup has a superb clarity to it while lacking all the icepick-y qualities of 60's Ricks. I know - we're as shocked as you! This particular guitar was toured with and as such is not in pristine condition; it has its share of dings and dents and a little oxidation on the Higain pickups. The OHSC has seen better days but is fully functional. We have cleaned it and set it up to the best of our abilities, and we think you'll be quite pleased with it, as we are.
