Description: SOLD: Sobell New World Model, Brazilian rosewood, German spruce, Madagascar rosewood neck, multi-color birdsfoot inlay, calton case. The New World model is based around an Adirondack (American Red) spruce soundboard. It is a little smaller than the Martin Simpson Signature model and has its own dedicated body shape, build specification and trim. This guitar is inspired by classic US guitars of the 20s and 30s (and in particular by one owned and played by Stefan Grossman). It is a little over 000 size, has a 25.3ā scale and is lighter built than the Martin Simpson Signature model and Model 1. The soundboard is Adirondack spruce supported by a lightened development of the MS Signature model bracing pattern. The back and sides are best Brazilian rosewood. The neck has a slight āVā provile and is made of Madagascar rosewood. The fingerboard and bridge are ebony,. Tuners are Gohtoh 510 with black buttons. The binding is maple with red and black purfling around back and sides, and birdsfoot and red and black purfling around the top and sound-hole. The sound is vibrant and responsive with a wide dynamic range; it suits both plectrum playing and fingerstyle. It is loud yet intimate, great for playing to an audience and also for yourself. Its compact dimensions and its intimate sound make it a comfortable and relaxing guitar to play.
