Sleek and fast yet classy with the mojo and tone, our Custom Standard guitars are the identity of Suhr Guitars. Popular as a "deluxe" custom guitar with 5A grade Quilted Maple and Flame Maple tops and matching figured headstock, the Standard can also be stripped down as a no-frills gigging workhorse guitar that performs like no other axe night after night. Popular wood combinations are Basswood/Maple top body with one-piece Maple neck or with Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, Alder body with Maple neck and Pau Ferro fingerboard, Swamp Ash/Maple top body with one-piece Maple neck, and Mahogany/Maple top body with Mahogany neck and Indian Rosewood board. The most popular neck shapes for the Standard are the Even C Slim, the new Even C Extra Slim, and the 60's C Vintage Standard. Most common bridges used on the Standard are the Gotoh 510 with the Steel Block (which replaces the discontinued Standard trem that used to be made by Fishman and the Gotoh 1055 and 1088 bridges as well) and the Gotoh Floyd Rose. Virtually any pickup configuration is possible – HSS, HH, HSH, two or three S90's, HS, and even single humbucker in the bridge a la EVH.
