This solid premium flame Koa parlor guitar has a stuning Koa top and back. There is abalone inlay around the 10 ply bound top, on the rosette floral fretboard, and on the Tacoma inlay on the headstock. The back of the guitar has five ply binding and the neck and headstock are single bound. The mahogany neck has an ebony fingerboard with 20 frets. The width at the nut is 1 3/4". Other features include gold Gotoh tuners, an ebony bridge, and a tusk saddle. The guitar weighs 4.8 pounds. There are some areas on the headstock and one small spot on the edge of the back binding on the waist where the lacquer is clouded and there is some separation between the lacquer and wood. This is commonly found on Koa Tacoma guitars of this vintage and does not effect the playability. The guitar has good treble, nice clarity and a bright, warm balanced tone. Pictures do not do justice to the gorgeous Koa in this guitar. The PKK40 comes with the original brown Datt hardshell case.
