  • Description: 1981 TOKAI "Love Rock" LS-50 LP Standard finished in beautiful and somewhat RARE Ebony. What a well-preserved beauty! Made in Japan. Please don't confuse this with the recent junk from China which litters the landscape these days. The late 70's and early 80's MIJ Tokais are extremely desirable and this is one sweet axe! Note: Please ignore any reflections in the pics. Black is very hard to photograph and this axe is very glossy! ALL Original! No cracks, No breaks, No repairs, No issues! Circuit board electronics. Pick-ups are original Gotoh "Super Distortion" style (dual rows of hex pole pieces) which measure a little hotter than typical PAFs (8.3 and 8.5 Kohms respectively) and are perfectly matched.This axe really sings when plugged in. Extremely resonate when played acoustically. Weight is a very comfortable 8.8 pounds. Very dark rosewood fretboard and nicely figured trapezoid position markers. The original frets show very minimal wear. Condition is about 9/10 showing only a couple tiny dings and some very light player wear on the back which would easily resolve with a pro polish. No signs of abuse. Looks like it was played very gently and always well cared for. In absolutely beautiful condition for a 31 plus year old vintage axe. Medium neck profile. All around beautiful axe that plays great with low, comfortable action. Controls work perfectly with no static or noise. Neck is straight. Just set-up with new .010's and ready to play. TLK hardshell case in nice usable condition included. All hinges, latches and handle work perfectly. No funny smells. MIJ Tokai Love Rocks are getting very hard to find in unmolested condition these days. This one's absolutely fantastic and well worth the investment.
