  • Description: New Zealand builder Laurie Williams has been honing his luthiery skills for the better part of two decades. He today enjoys world wide repute as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s formost luthiers. The Kiwi model pictured here is meticulously crafted from timbres mostly indigenous to New Zealand. It features Taraire back, sides, headstock, and binding; select Kauri top, ebony fingerboard and bridge. The neck is carved from ancient Kauri – wood that was buried in a peat bog for many thousands of years. A sonically interesting instrument, the tonality is similar to a Cedar and Maple guitar – it’s both warm and compressed, and the 12 fret to the body construction adds a compliment of colorful overtones. About the size of a 000 Martin, the Kiwi is quite comfortable to play. The neck has a slim D carve and a nut of 1-3/4” – it should appeal to most fingerstyle players. In near mint condition and set-up in our shop. With Ameritage deluxe hard shell case.
