For your consideration, Garrett Park Guitars presents this 1960 Gibson Melody Maker.
Gibson produced the Melody Maker as essentially a budget version of the Les Paul Junior with a thinner body, a narrow headstock without the wings, and a thinner pickup with no pole pieces. The affordable Melody Maker became Gibson’s best-selling solidbody guitar by the mid-1960s. It also followed design...
Believe it or not, the Melody Maker was Gibson's best selling model in the mid-1960s, and for good reason; it was affordable, it plays easily, and sounds great! These guitars were introduced as the ultimate beginner's guitar at around the time rock 'n' roll was emerging, but they eventually found their way (in both single and double cutaway designs) into the hands of players like Joan Jett, Mick...
1961 Gibson Melody Maker in sunburst finish. This is the double cut version. This is all original and in very good condition, Serial # 244xx. A few little dings and nicks. Light weight at 6.0 pounds. Original single coil sounds great! Natural checking throughout. Rosewood fingerboard. Set up nice and low. Comes with a non original hard case.
Very rare Inverness Green! Same color under the pick guard. Pickups are strong and punchy. Big round neck with 1/9 16th nut. Feels great in your hand. Action is low and frets are in great shape. The headstock size is rare and has a stinger on the back. Please note: that is NOT a headstock break, it is in the finish only!
Serial # 516261. The Pelham blue turned Cadillac green of this mid 1960's Melody Maker has got us all fired up here. It's just a gorgeous color, even if not at all blue any longer, and more than makes up for this guitar's shortcomings! The finish is completely original, but the yellowing effect of the original 50 year old lacquer top coat acts as a lens over the blue undercoat - and voila!...
Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A really cool 1965 Gibson Melody Maker. I love these. Nice Fat Necks, not pencil thin like many 1960's Gibsons and this one sounds fantastic with the original Gibson Melody Maker Single Coil Pickup.
All original except the Ping Tuners and Leo Quan BadAss Bridge. Both upgrades and the original parts had probably worn out. The Bridge is an older one made...
Case: Non-original hard case
Comments: 1964 Gibson Melody Maker with awesome lacquer checking. This guitar has beautiful playability, a very sweet neck profile and that tone only a Gibson can deliver. All original less replaced bridge. Includes non-original hard case.
Case: Vintage Chipboard
Comments: This rare little beauty is a very special guitar. It is super lightweight and full of amazing tones. The original Pelham Blue finish has aged beautifully and the original single coil Melody Maker pickups are fat and twangy. The stock...
1964 Gibson Melody Maker in its original and still very BRILLIANT Sunburst finish. It has a great playing neck with great frets. It's all original and 100% complete including its original case. It's in EXCELLENT condition with only a few minor nicks + dings, two slightly bent tuners, very little finish checking, and other minor cosmetic wear. Everything remains structurally sound with no cracks,...
Great guitar very resonant acoustically. Easy to play/bend notes. Neck is semi chunky, feels good in the hand. Several Dings and some checking on this guitar. Small section of very shallow button worming on the back.Moderate play wear. Some fret wear underneath the strings (due to string vibration). Original jumbo frets have lots of fret life. Minor devoting on the 1st 3 frets of fingerboard....
Finish: Original Fire Engine Red
Pickups: Original, neck pickup re-wound
Case: Original chip case
Comments: Very cool 1967 Melody Maker with Vibrola. This one was brought in by a favorite customer of ours. The body has beautiful lacquer checking and an incredible feeling worn neck. Has been professionally...
Vintage original 1965 Gibson Melody Maker. This is a supremely fine example, all original and purchased from the original owner. Plays and sounds fantastic with that signature vintage tone. Neck has a great feel and playability is superb. Pickup is nice and strong. Comes with original vintage case, too.
This Gibson Melody Maker was made in the USA in 1964. The guitar shows normal play wear but is in very nice shape overall, and it is all original except for 1 potentiometer. It has a nice full profile neck that feels really good to play. It has been pro-setup and is ready to go. It comes with a newer hard shell case in nice condition.
All straight and good playing MM from early '62. Non original truss rod cover is the only change on this one. Has a few minor nicks and dings but no repairs or modifications. with non original case.

An excellent condition vintage guitar with some finish checking. No cracks or repairs. Came to us in the original worn soft shell case but recommend letting us use a hardshell case for...

A classic. A straightforward Gibson solidbody from the heyday of bands like Gerry and the Pacemakers (or was it Peacemakers?), Vanilla Fudge, we could go on. 100% original except for one small, solid improvement, that of the original cheesy open-back tuners being replaced by new, high-quality covered Kluson replicas. The rest all there: pickup, dated pots, finish, the whole nine yards. Get up on...
