1941 Gibson L-0 in very good condition. These late L-0 are interesting guitars as they bridge the gap between the L-0 and 00 of the 30s with the LG-2 of the 1940s. The top bracing is scalloped and they have big round necks, both features found on the LG-2 from the Banner era. This guitar is all original except for a new saddle and one bridge pin. We reset the neck and made a new saddle to get...

Considered by many to be the Robert Johnson model, since he's holding one in one of the two existing photos, this is the super-light, very early flattop Gibson, all mahogany, with the rounded shape that puts the bridge in the center of the lower bout. The neck is 12-frets to the body with a solid peghead, braces are the A shape, body is between the 0 and 00 size, all parts are original. There is...
1933 Gibson L-00 in very good condition. This is an all original example of an early 14 fret sunburst L-00. We reset the neck and repaired a small top crack. The original saddle and bridge are uncut. The frets had wear in just the first position so we carefully replaced the first three. This is a lightweight but very solid instrument. It has a warm throaty sound with plenty of power. The...

1936 Gibson L-00 in very good condition. All original right down to the bridge pins. There is some minor checking in the original finish and signs of light play wear. One 3" back crack well repaired with hide glue and a 3" repaired center seam separation on the top. Nearly impossible to see and doesn't show in the photos. The pickguard has been loosened and reglued and the ubiquitous b...

Gibson L-00 with a 14 fret neck, mahogany back and sides, small, sunburst spruce top with firestripe pickguard with strum wear around its perimeter. Good frets, replacement bridge and Schaller tuners. Nothing has been refinished and the guitar still has a fine growl and tone that only old Gibsons kick out. Neck is straight, action is fairly low and this babe is ready to roll....once again....
Sensational sound. Very good-looking once all the grime was removed from the front. No-crack front that reflects the warm full sound of this guitar. Great looking firestripe pick guard.
Back has a few cracks and a barely visible hairline heel crack which looks like a finish crack.
Replica tuners were tinted off-white with tea bags to look old.
This guitar has low action and is a joy to play....
#139 circa 1932 New pyramid bridge and neck set caused the price to come up.
No trace of a pickguard, but was professionally refinished on the top and back of the neck ( a long while ago), but left original on back body and sides.
Perhaps the neck was reshaped to a C-shape.
12 fret with a working truss rod (1 3/4" nut) neck.
We adjusted many frets and reglued the loose braces. Super...
Gibson L-00 1932
Beginning in the late 20s, Gibson went through a series of flat top 'types' before settling on the basic L-00 that is fairly common in the vintage market today. From about 1931 through 1933, the L-00 saw a rapid number of iterations. This particular example is from that time period, and is quite rare when compared to the standard L-00.
It sports the spiffy black w/ white...
