Description: Very RARE 1973 50 watt Marshall Lead & Bass head in excellent condition - with Mullard EL34 tubes and Marshall 12ax7s. This very rare early 70s Marshall is in excellent condition - tolex is in great shape, newer handle, some small screw holes on the top of the head, and there are two holes on the back panel, and one changed power transformer. This head is currently wired for 110, so it can be used in the US. Tune in later for a 'sonic review' where we will describe its tonal qualities. Here is a quote from the famous book - 'The History of Marshall' by Michael Doyle, page 29 regarding the 50 watt Marshall series: 'Of much greater interest was the 50 watt Lead and Bass, introduced in 1973, which was produced specifically for mail order and due to those limited quantities is now quite rare. It, too, was based on the standard model, but had one channel identical to that of the 1987 Lead and other identical to the 1986 Bass, making this a particularly versitile amplifier.
