  • Bio: More Music has been supplying working musicians with pro gear and vintage string instruments since 1993. Owner Dave Handloff is an experienced soundman, musician and technician whose credits include Van Morrison, Bob Weir, Journey, Maria Mulduar and many other top acts. Dave is also one of the most knowledgeable people on the West Coast when it comes to vintage guitars and amps. The store opened in 1992 and our first customer was Jack Casady of Jefferson Airplane / Hot Tuna. Since then More Music has evolved from a tiny hole-in-the-wall shop for those in-the-know, to a full-service retail store with a large selection of used and vintage acoustic guitars, electric guitars, basses, lap steels, amps, ukuleles, mandolins and effects. Recent clients include Edie Brickell, Sting, Jimmie Vaughn, Steve Kimock, John Prine and members of Galactic, Ozomatli, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Doobie Brothers and many others. We offer insurance appraisals, expert repairs, lessons and consignments.

    • Payment: We accept all forms of legal tender. Cash payments will result in immediate shipment of your instrument. Money orders, Cashiers checks, wire transfers, (and for that matter truckloads of coins) are considered cash. Cash will also get you a 2% discount (unless it's a truckload of coins). Credit cards and Paypal work as well (with minimal hoops through which we must jump). Personal or business checks will be held until cleared by your bank before we ship anything. Trade-ins will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
    • Shipping: Our preferred carrier is UPS unless a different shipper is mutually agreed upon in advance. We ship only within the United States but will consider International transactions if payment is via money order, wire transfer, or a personal check by mail. International buyers must arrange for pickup by shipping agent. Buyer can choose ground, air or overnight and pays shipping and packing fees. ($10 handling fee on instruments and amps, $5 handling fee on small items such as pedals and pickups).
    • Returns: We want you to be happy with your new guitar (or whatever instrument you purchase), so we offer a 48 hour trial period for you to get to know each other. If for any reason you are not satisfied, notify us that you intend to make a return, repackage the instrument, and ship it back to us (via UPS or FedEx, insured, and at your own expense) and once we receive the instrument back--in the same condition in which we sent it out-- we will issue a refund.
