This one has been played, but not abused. It’s in good shape. There are several nicks and dings on the body, and there’s buckle wear. The neck, frets and board are nice. The nut was changed. The pots date 137 825 (original 1958) and 304 6422 (changed 1964) The pickup and all other electronics are original. The original masking tape for the wires is still there. This guitar has play wear, lots of checking, nicks and dings. There’s a lot of wear and some finish has chipped off on the back of the neck. The frets and board show wear, but they’re in pretty good shape. One pot has been changed and the pick guard is missing. A strap button was added at the base of the neck. There looks to be a bit of glue at the back of the neck/body joint. It’s possible that the neck was re-set, but I don’t think so. Rick 481’s are very rare, and this version is rarer still. Most 481’s have slanted frets and chrome pickup covers, but this one has straight frets and black covers. This guitar is not mint, but it’s in nice shape. There is a lot of checking, and some minor nicks and dings. There’s some fret wear. This bass is clean with a straight neck, low action and no cracks. The body has been re-bound, and the finish was touched up around the new bindings. The neck may or may not have been re-set, but the bass plays well and there is room to raise or lower the action as desired. Many of these old Gretsch basses have super high action and require a neck re-set. A few of the knobs were changed. Electronics and mute system are original and working. This guitar has normal wear for its age. Although you can’t see them in the pics, there’s scratches on the body (mostly on the back) and a good bit of nicks and dings. This guitar has been used, but it’s solid and in pretty good shape. The two legible pots are dated last week of 1971, so 1972 is a good guess for the year. This guitar is not mint, but it’s in good shape for its age. There are nicks, dings, and light scratches. There are a few paint chips on the back at the neck joint. There is finish wear on the treble side of the soundhole from strumming. No cracks and the top is pretty flat. The action is good. Another cool maple board/black block Jazz Bass. The body shows a lot of checking, and some of the finish has flaked off at the lower front, edge, and back of the bass. You can see it in the pictures. This guitar was part of the “Collector’s Edition” but this one has NOT been kept in a showcase. It’s been played a lot. In addition to all of the nicks, dings paint chips and buckle wear, there is wear on the edges of the fingerboard. There's wear on the gold plated parts. This one has really been played. The neck binding has been replaced, but it looks like everything else is completely original. Lots of nicks, dings, bumps and bruises. This one has plenty of nicks, dings, chips, and checking. It has been played. There are 2-3 small screw holes in the body, possibly from strap buttons, but the holes are smaller than normal strap button holes. The screws on the thumb rest are not original. This is a cool transitional Duo. It still has the clay dots, and the Oly white has been factory sprayed over Desert Tan. This is original Fender, though. Has the larger bridge/tail. This is one of the cleanest Country Gents I’ve owned. It does have the bad binding issue that virtually all of them have. The binding is cracked and chipping away. The guitar shows very little play wear. Some of the gold hardware is really clean, but some of it (pickguard bracket and one strap button) is really rusty. Those parts could easily be changed out. Some of the gold has some green on it. Still a very clean, original and nice guitar. Case is clean, too. This guitar is cool and almost all original. There are a couple of extra pick guard screw holes in the body, but they’re covered by the guard. The high e tuner is slightly bent and not as yellowed as the others. A couple of ground wires were added and the jagged edge masking tape that would have originally affixed the pickup wires to the shield is gone. Wires have been spliced. This is a very clean guitar, but it does have two large paint chips down to the wood, including a pretty ugly one at the bass side cutaway. There is checking, of course. Though not totally original, this is a cool guitar. The toaster pickup looks to be a newer reissue. The pickguard screws are new, and the guard itself looks to be newer as well. There are lots of paint chips, nicks and dings. There is substantial finish wear on the back of the neck. The pot codes are 1376037 and 1376039. This guitar has REALLY been played. There is significant wear and grooving on the frets and fingerboard. Although there are some buzzes, the guitar still plays pretty well. The Epi Cortez is very much like the Gibson B-25. It features X-bracing and was made by the same craftsmen with the materials in the same Gibson Kalamazoo, Michigan factory. This is a cool, light weight (5 lb 12 oz) good sounding, and nice playing short scale bass. Very narrow neck. There is deep lacquer checking (as is typical of Vox) but no cracks in the wood. This is a cool bass. It’s not too heavy at 8 lb 10 oz (without bridge or pickup covers). The mocha finish (on Alder) looks great with lots of checking. As you can see, there’s a large spot of buckle wear down to the wood, and there’s a spot of arm wear through to the fullerplast. This guitar is very clean. It has checking, light scratches, and some minor nicks, but there are no cracks in the wood. The neck measures 1 3/4 inches wide at the nut, and has a hard V on the back. This one is pretty beat up. There are many nicks and dings, some gouges, and the deep lacquer checking that is so common to 60’s and 70’s Vox. This one has been played. There’s lots of nicks, dings and wear, mostly on the back of the body. There is some fret wear, but there’s a good deal of fret life left, and the ebony fingerboard is in great shape. Many Rippers have problems with the electronics, but the pickups on this one have full output and all electronics are original and working properly. The bass plays and sounds as it should. Here’s a cool one. It’s been around the block a few times. There’s a good sized chip on the headstock corner, treble side. There’s a LOT of wear, nicks, dings, scrapes, and checking. This guitar has been played and loved. Basically, it’s the Epi version of the Gibson B-25-12 made by the same craftsmen, in the same factory, using the same solid woods. This is a cool bass with normal play wear. The neck and frets are good with a bit of fingerboard edge wear. As you can see, there are several spots where the Red finish has worn past the gold undercoat and down to the natural Fullerplast. It has all original electronics. This Junior is a bit rare in that Gibson didn’t make many Jr.’s after 1969. It has a small volute, but no “Made in USA” stamp on the back of the head, so I think it was probably made in early 1970. The Gibson Shipment Totals book shows 938 Juniors made in 1970, and, to the best of my knowledge, no more all mahogany juniors were made until the late 80’s/early 90’s when they made the first reissues. A great 45 year old Junior in a rare color. It has normal nicks, dings and checking. A few scratches and a small coiled cable impression. Minimal buckle wear. The ES-340 was an upgraded version of the ES-335 that was offered by Gibson from 1969-1973. Basically, it was a 335, but featured a laminated maple (not mahogany) neck, and some funky electronics that involved a master volume and “master mixer control.” This particular guitar has had it’s wiring changed back to the normal 2 volume, 2 tone set up. This is a rare color for SG Specials, with only 149 made in Natural in 1972. . This one has been beaten up a bit and the tuners have been changed a couple of times. Explorer basses are rare and were only made for a few years during the 80’s. The body on this one is rough. There are numerous nicks, dings, scratches, gouges (one large gouge has been touched up with black paint), but no cracks. There’s lots of lacquer checking. The frets and fingerboard are nice, and the bass plays and sounds well. Pots date 1378438. This guitar has been played, and the body has various nicks and scratches. A 2 inch by ¼ inch gouge on the edge of the body has been touched up with black paint. The pickguard as shrunken, but it's not the worst I've seen. The chicken hat switch knob may be changed. The bridge cover is gone, too. This one does NOT say “Made in Italy“, as most Voxes do. This bass has been played, and for good reason. It’s a good one. There are lots of nicks, and dings, bumps and bruises. There’s buckle wear. Some of the buckle wear has gone through the finish and the previous owner touched up those areas with lacquer and a bit of black paint where he thought it was appropriate, in order to protect the wood. A great playing guitar with a wide (1 11/16” nut width) neck. This one is mostly original and in solid shape. It had a set of Grovers at one time but period correct single line Klusons with new bushings and buttons have been installed. The Grovers caused the tuner shaft holes to be widened and there will be extra screw holes under the Kluson strip. You can’t see any of this. This is one of the last of the original (non reissue) Jaguars and since it was made in the 70’s features a heavy Ash body. Everything’s original except for two of the switches which were riveted (instead of screwed) to the switch plate. The red in the sunburst “bleeds“ but it‘s original. This one‘s been played, but it‘s original and almost complete. The pick guard is gone as is the “VOX“ plate that should be on the tailpiece. There is heavy checking and numerous nicks and dings. There’s rust on the keys. The electronics and "tuner" still work. This bass has a super thin neck and plays great. I don't know how to date these, but I think it's late 60's. This guitar has heavy checking, and some pretty good sized scrapes, and gouges. The nut has been changed and the bridge has been glued back down. The guitar still has a flat top and no cracks in the wood. It plays and sounds well and is structurally sound. This one has been around the block a few times. There are lots of nicks, dings, scratches, and a good deal of checking. It has several dryness cracks which look to be through the finish and in the wood, but not through the wood. This is the very rare TREMOLO version. Both pots date 137 6608 and that’s the only way we can date this guitar, since Rick didn’t put serial numbers on the few Tremolo 425’s they made. This one is missing the trem arm and bridge cover. Three’s a slight separation of the fingerboard from the neck at the first frets. This happens to some older Ricks. This is a REALLY clean guitar. I guess it was Guild’s answer to the Martin D-28 with it’s Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides. Ebony bridge and fingerboard. One piece mahogany neck. This guitar, despite being nearly 30 years old is in really nice shape. This is a rare and little known model. It has a small (14 ¼”) dreadnought style body and 24 ¾” scale length. I also has an “X Braced” top like B-25’s J-45’s, and other better Gibson models have. This guitar has been heavily played. There are lots of nicks, dings, scratches, and lots of checking, but no cracks. Here’s a cool guitar with just enough minor changes to make it affordable. Three of the pots are original and the only one whose code can be read dates 1964. The fourth is dated 1980. This is a great playing and great sounding guitar. It has been a player’s guitar so it does have its share of nicks and dings. The front of the body is pretty clean, but the back of the body is pretty nicked up. The frets and fingerboard are in nice shape. This is a really nice guitar. It’s not mint, but it’s very clean. Lovingly played and cared for by one owner. It’s not a feather, weighing in at 10 lbs 2 oz. There’s some fret wear, and light general wear. Original pickups. Pots date 137 78 19. The serial number on the underside of the pick guard matches the one on the headstock.
