When I was young I always wondered what bass Peter Tork was using on The Monkees TV Show.

Perhaps I was confused because it was a brand new model introduced by Gretsch.   A Tennessean body with a bass neck... The Model 6073 Bass.
If you've seen the original test Monkees shows, Mike Nesmith used a Gretsch Tennessean that he modified with a 12-string neck!  Before the show hit the air, Gretsch made him a one-of-a-kind, blond 12-string, using a Country Gentleman body.

This is a vintage 1947 Gibson L-5 archtop electric guitar in sunburst finish. It's completely original, with a double McCarty pickguard.

It has a multiple bound body and the f-holes are bound as well. The ebony fingerboard has pearloid block inlays, and it's got enclosed Kluson tuning gears.
