If you are in the market for a 57 PAF style Goldtop but don't want to spend $150K here's a great alternative...!! The good ones get played and this one has seen many gigs. Plenty of honest play wear, checking and has the MoJo. This was a one owner guitar and I bought it from the original owners wife.
Original 1952 to 57 Goldtop PAF conversion (with factory finish). The conversion started with an original 1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop that had a headstock crack. Conversion work includes: neck reset, neck tenon changed to 4 degrees, plug and route for humbuckers, guitar weighs 8lbs 13oz. I did a repair to the cracked headstock and I guarantee for life that the guitar will NOT crack at the repair. The finish and all Woods to the guitar are original: (mahogany body, maple top, mahogany neck, Brazilian fingerboard, Holly headstock veneer, neck & body bindings and fretboard inlays). The previous owner had a small binding repair from the nut to the 3rd fret, (last pic).Original Parts Include: Strap buttons, Nut, truss rod cover, tuners, recut original pickguard, bracket, 52 switch & harness, switch tip, backplates and trap end plate and all screws.
Repro parts are: Wolftone 59 PAF clone pickups, Gibson Historic Rings, Nonwire ABR1 bridge and featherweight tailpiece, Retrospec 1' bushings and 1-1/2" studs, Refret with Jescar 57110 frets, CTS Premium 500K pots with NOS Russian PIO caps. All conversion work was done by me: Jim Weyandt, owner of JamCity Guitars and comes with a COA.
