Description

Japanese-made 1972 Alvarez 5044 dreadnought. Spruce top and rosewood body, although all laminates as was typical for these guitars. A little forward rotation of the adjustable-saddle bridge, again, rather typical for this era of Japanese flat top. Not enough to make for poor playing though. In fact, 12th fret high E action is just above 1/16", and there is no objectionable buzzing. IMHO you could easily take it a little higher (for aggressive playing) and it would still play easily. The frets are getting a little low, but they are not pitted. Guitar came to me with the bridge off, and you can see some roughness from where it originally came off or was removed. Not garish, but visible. Plenty of scratches and dings, but still looks decent. No heavy wear. Replacement Ping tuners are a perfect match for the missing original die-cast tuners. They're inexpensive after-market parts, but they're actually really solid - probably better than the originals. Respectable tone for laminates. Actually has a nice "rosewoody" bottom end. Serviceable non-original soft case, maybe a gig bag. It'll depend on what I have available, but it will come with luggage. Priced aggressively because it's less than perfect cosmetically, especially around the bridge.

Real charges only - no added materials or handling charges. All guitars insured for full value. I will use the least expensive shipping available, although this may be slow in some circumstances (e.g. parcel post). Please let me know if you desire a faster, albeit more, expensive service. Please allow 2 - 4 days of time to prepare and pack your guitar IN ADDITION to the actual shipping transit.

NO buyer's remorse PLEASE! Damage or loss in shipping = insurance claim (with which I will be glad to assist you). At my discretion, a disatistfied buyer may return a guitar (with a thorough explanation) for a full refund of purchase price but not of shipping. I'd rather begrudgingly take back a guitar than truly disappoint a customer. If, however, I have ever made a serious error in identification/originality/damage etc. that negatively affects a guitar's value, then a full refund including shipping will be given. PLEASE file any return claims ASAP - seven days at most.
