Description

If you’re looking for a 60s oddity for your collection, this great playing 1967 Ampeg ASB-1 “Devil Bass” is the one for you! These basses were made sporadically by Ampeg for only a year from late 66 to late 67, naming the model the “Ampeg Special Bass 1”. Finding a nicely preserved, playable example today might be a challenging task. Thankfully, this example still looks the part and plays exceptionally well, thanks to the “mystery” pickup mounted under the pickguard. It sounds smooth, too! The former owner of this bass clearly played this bass extensively, as seen by the wear throughout the paint, but rest assured, this is purely cosmetic. It remains original throughout and is such an eye-catching model.

Overall Condition: 7, wear throughout the instrument, notably to the body and the scroll headstock
