1998 Ampeg B-50R Rocket Bass Amplifier Blue Diamond, Very Good

Used 1998 Ampeg B-50R Rocket Bass Amplifier serial number AEBDK10089.

This amp is in very good condition, fully functional, cosmetically showing some scuffs and nicks in the Blue Diamond tolex covering. In addition the handle is slightly tatty, the expected patina from a very practical, useful amp that has seen action and is ready for more.

The B-50R is solid state but it emulates a tube amp nicely and it has that signature Ampeg sound. Originally marketed as a bass amp with sweet low end, this would be a great keyboard or guitar amp as well.

Ampeg original sales brochure states;

“Inspired by the classic Ampeg bass amps of the sixties, this easy to use amplifier represents Ampeg’s quest to provide you the finest instrument amplification systems available.”

Featuring a single input jack, headphone jack (that cuts the speaker), volume, bass, low-mid, high-mid, treble controls and a line out. 50 watts into a sealed back 12” speaker.

Nice, simple and straight ahead.

We actually had one customer call us after he owned one for a week asking when he should change the tubes.

You can get a bass amp with 10 times the wattage and half the weight but it will probably have half the tone!
