Real deal. I recently left a band I gigged 120+ shows a year with, for 5 1/2 years. The bass player had a head like this, early metal switches, metal knobs and it did every show with no issues ever, with the original 7027's. Gigs we did with nationals had the sound guys and musicians commenting on the tone. Yeah, it's heavy, but nothing sounds like an Ampeg tube bass head with real iron, from a B15N to an SVT, it's the sound you've heard on 10,000 records. This one has that tone, the one that makes you just want to play the E and A string! Wonderful.
