Traditional 10-stringed Andean instrument, handmade in the US using beautiful woods and Old World building techniques. Body carved from a walnut limb, armadillo ears carved on heel in homage to the animal from whose shell so many charangos are made. Spruce top with hand made binding, intricate sun rosette of wood & pearl, and graceful bridge. Walnut neck, slotted headstock with wood inlay, rosewood fretboard, ~14.5'' scale, 5 courses of strings tuned ggcceEaaee low to high, tuned in unison (except 3rd pair tuned in octaves), 5-on-plate gold open-gear tuners with pearloid buttons, clear pickguards. Bright lively sound! We are very happy to offer this fine charango. Ukulele players looking for new sounds might find this fun to explore, tuning is ''My Dog Has Fleas'' with an extra ''Has'' on top.
