August Knopf (=Knopf) F/B♭Semi-double French horn, 5 rotary with A stop key. Yellow brass one-piece bell. Low brass (no lacquer). 1960s manufacture. No case. Sold as a body only.
[Condition.]
There is a repair to reattach the cinnabar (ring tube made of nickel silver) that connects the bell tube and the first tube.There is a shallow dent on the outer circumference of the bell body that has been repaired. The horn has not been lacquered, and although it is dull, it is nicely oxidized and has no rust or corrosion. Condition is excellent for a no-lacquer horn of this age. All rotaries have been disassembled, cleaned, all tubes adjusted and serviced.

Semi-double horn made by the historical workshop August Knoch (father of Herbert Fritz Knoch), featuring the original layout of Nr. 13 with the A stop key rotary on the No. 3 rotary side. The rotary, sliding of each tube, and clearances are carefully crafted. The warm and bright sound is attractive.
