2018 Bartlett Retrospec Brazilian RW FB ThroBaks Dirty Lemonburst
Offered is this awesome Retrospec by Canadian guitar builder Tom Bartlett. Tom is known for building exceptional LP recreations, but needed a guitar design all his own. With the help of Kim LaFleur of Historic Makeovers and Swedish designer Magnus Melkersson, the Retrospec model was born.
The Retrospec has a doublecut body that is only marginally larger than the LP design that it emulates. It utilizes a one-piece Honduran Mahogany body topped with lightly flamed Eastern Maple. It has a one-piece Mahogany neck with a rounded '59 shape and depth measurements of .885" at the first fret and .985" at the twelfth fret. The 24-3/4" string scale fingerboard is made of Brazilian Rosewood and has a 12" radius, medium frets and a 1.70" nylon nut. It has an ABR-1 style bridge and tailpiece and Kluson Deluxe tuners. This one has fabulous ThroBak SLE-101 MXV humbucking pickups with a traditional LP-style control setup. Kim LaFleur's influence made sure this guitar was built with accurate materials including Royalite binding, cellulose nitrate fingerboard inlays and a very thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish with no plasticizers. I suspect that Kim's influence is also reflected in the guitar's very tasteful aging, which includes a VOS like patina, superb finish checking and aged hardware. This guitar has a total weight of just 8.6 pounds and is finished in "Dirty Lemonburst."
If you love LP style guitars, this Retrospec will blow you away. The tone and feel of this guitar are decidedly LP like, although the Retrospec is built to a much higher quality standard and is built one-at-a-time by Tom Bartlett alone. Check out the brief sound sample included, this guitar sounds fabulous, aiding to a significant extent by the superb ThroBak pickups.
This instrument is in superb original condition (lightly aged) and the frets remain in superb conditon. The aging consists primarily of significant and very realistic finish checking. The guitar comes in it's original G&G / Bartlett case, also in fabulous condition.
As equipped, a new Retrospec will cost you nearly $8K. Get this wonderful and only lightly played 2018 example for quite a bit less.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included.
