This is a pretty cool and rare acoustic guitar especially in this condition.
Handmade by Bernardo (Bernie) Chavez Rico Sr. in the late 1960's / early 1970's in Los Angeles, California. Bernie is mostly associated with the solid body electrics that he built that were very popular and are very collectable.
He made a limited number of quality acoustics as well. The B-38 is a dreadnaught with a 25 1/2' scale length and 1 5/8" nut width. Solid ebony fingerboard and bridge with snowflake inlays, and solid spruce (sitka) top. This guitar has beautiful quarter sawn Brazilian Rosewood sides and back and a pearl rosette as well. Original tuners, frets, pick guard, bridge and finish. This guitar plays particularly well with very low, 3 /32" string height at the 12 fret. It is in remarkable original condition with only a very few small dings associated with normal playing and is overall excellent+. It comes with original hard shell case.
