Here we have a clean, extremely rare 5-string banjo produced after David Day joined with Fred Bacon in 1922 to form the Bacon & Day Banjo Co. As always, B&D instruments contained superbly delicate adornments in terms of wood selection and pearl inlaid designs on the peg head and fingerboard, single bound in ivoroid. Unlike most Super models, this exquisite example left Groton. Ct. as an original five string.
This instrument includes the unique clip on resonator of figured maple matching the neck while the heel cap features an inlaid multi-leafed fern design.
This banjo is in excellent original playing condition with minimal fret wear. This is a terrific example of a rarely seen B&D 5-string. And did we mention, it sounds great!
$3,850.00 with nice hard case included.
