Inspired by the great guitars of the pre-war era with classy appointments and great tonewoods.

Combine fine modern workmanship with rare, costly tonewoods and lavish, abalone pearl inlay on every border and you have the Blueridge BR-283A. This 000 sized guitar is just the right size for comfort and ease of playing, but retains the big tone, clarity and volume that's perfect for live performance as well as recording work.

The top is crafted from high-quality Adirondack spruce and braced with the same forward-x pattern parabolic braces as the 1930's original. Rare and costly solid Brazilian rosewood is used for the back and sides and gorgeous abalone pearl is inlaid on every border to make this flagship guitar a stunning visual display as well as a performance instrument.

The guitars were made from old growth stump wood. Really cool wood!!! They would harvest the remaining stumps from old growth trees by digging them out, then resaw and dry. The bottom area of the tree gets the amazing figure from all the nutrients and compression. Much cooler than straight grained quarter sawn Brazilian Rosewood in my opinion.

This guitar dates to 2004 (SN # 04030011) so it is real Brazilian Rosewood. In 2012 Blueridge stopped using Brazilian and changed to Santos Rosewood (which looks similar but is not as rare or valuable).

There is an impression in the top by the upper bout. It is appx 1/8" long. Also a finish crack under the bridge that is appx 1" long. Neither of these issues go into the wood and in no way effect the tone, playability or structure of the instrument. They're just cosmetic. I've done my best to show these in the pictures.

This is the most affordable Brazilian Rosewood acoustic guitar available.
