SD-1 SUPER Over Drive (JAPAN/JRC4558D)
BOSS SD-1 manufactured around '81!
The SD-1 features an asymmetrical overdrive circuit inherited from the OD-1, and a new tone control that allows boosting/cutting of the high frequencies. The circuit details have been changed to give it a slightly higher gain and more solid texture compared to the OD-1. It can create a sweet and mild distortion without killing the nuance of subtle picking. The serial number is partially missing, but the op-amp is JRC4558D (glossy/#1606), which was manufactured around 1981, and is a valuable item together with the multi-layered paint job on the chassis. The SD-1 was manufactured in Japan until the middle of 1989, and then the production line was moved to Taiwan.
