Description

Offered is this fabulous OMC Brazilian built by Dana Bourgeois in 2011. Based on a 1930's era Martin, this guitar is also quite similar to the model Dana now calls his Soloist. This is a guitar that was designed to provide a cutaway model with the well-balanced frequency range and top end clarity demanded by fingerstyle players.

The OMC is a 000-sized, 14-fret instrument with a 25.5" string scale, a 1.75" bone nut and 2-5/16" string spacing. This beautiful instrument has a straight-grained European Spruce top. The back and sides of this beauty were made from a magnificent set of Brazilian Rosewood and the body bindings are figured Koa. It has a simple and elegant wood tile rosette and multicolor herringbone backstrip. The neck has a easy-playing C-shape that is .85" deep at the first fret. It has an Ebony fingerboard with no inlays, an Ebony belly bridge, fossil ivory pins and gold Waverly tuners with Snakewood buttons.

The resonance and bell-like tones of this mid-size guitar are surte to please. It has a voice that is lush with lots of overtones and great note to note separation. The low end is quite good,, but it is in the mid and high frequencies that this instrument excels. Please check out the included sound sample for taste of it's marvelous tone. The guitar is currently setup with light gauge Elixir Phosphor Bronze strings and 12th fret string heights of 5.5/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side and just a touch of neck relief. The playability is superb with lots of touch-sensitivity.

This guitar is in excellent condition. It has seen only fingerstyle play and the sole flaw is a tiny impression on the top in the cutaway area. You could easily miss it without magnification and I've done my best to photograph it. Even pointed out and close up you will have a tough time seeing it. Otherwise, the guitar is in near mint condition and the frets show no visible wear. It comes in it's original TKL case with green lining, also in marvelous condition.

A new example of this guitar would set you back over $9K, but this lightly played 2011 example can be yours for a third less. Buy yourself this magnificent Bourgeois OMC Brazilian and you will be so glad you did!
