For the Guitarist seeking the big, boomy sound of a dreadnought, amplified by the low-end power of Cocobolo, the Legacy Dreadnought is instilled with character and spirit that will carry on for generations. Cocobolo, dalbergia retusa, originates in southern Mexico and Central America. Cocobolo is dark and dense, with a bright, clear, sustaining voice and a tone that is very similar to the best Rosewood. It is considered the closest tonally and aesthetically to Brazilian Rosewood. It offers a well-balanced tone with power, sustain, and volume. It is responsive, with clear, slow-decaying harmonics and a well-articulated and complex low end. The coloration is a rich brown-red with black streaks. The tonal strength of Cocobolo offers more pronounced, articulate lows than Indian Rosewood and adds sonic and visual depth to this spirited, Sitka-topped Breedlove dreadnought.
