Description

Summary: This Brook Guitars Tamar is a medium sized jumbo acoustic guitar with a solid European spruce top and flame maple back & sides. This guitar has some wonderful binding, an ebony fingerboard & bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.

Body: Medium jumbo body with a solid European spruce top and flamed maple back & sides.

Neck: Mahogany neck with an ebony fingerboard & an ebony bridge. Gotoh tuning keys. The scale length on this guitar is 25.75” and the nut width is 1 11/16”. This guitar has 20 frets and they are in great shape and have a ton of life left in them. This neck has a small and it is very comfortable to play and hold.

Pickups/Hardware: No electronics, chrome tuning keys, ebony bridge & ebony bridge pins, ebony headstock veneer, dot inlays, beautiful binding on the top & the back of the guitar.

Cosmetics: This instrument looks incredible– the beauty of the woods & the characteristics of the binding stand out in a crowd of guitars on our floor. When you get in closer you can see a little wear including small scratches, a few dings & marks on the top including one imperfection directly above the 19th fret that is hard to photograph. There are a few dings around the edges in the binding but nothing major. The back has very little buckle rash but it does have a few minor scrapes & dings. All of the wear that I have described is hidden by the incredible beauty in the woods of this guitar. All wear is cosmetic and there are no cracks or breaks.

Playability: This Brook guitar plays great – the action is comfortable and the guitar plays with no buzzing or dead spots. We had this instrument set up with 12’s and it is ready to be played and loved!

Modifications / Repairs: This instrument does have an input jack for electronics but the electronics have been taken out and only the wire remains inside the guitar. We think the bridge may have been re-glued at some time in the past and the original owner told us that the neck had been reset as well – our in-house luthier said that it is possible that both of these had been done in the past but it looks like great work & it is very hard to notice.

Weight: 4 lbs, 3 oz.
