[Overview]
Buffet Crampon, alto saxophone S1 late model. Lacquer finish. Right hand little finger key (Low E♭/Low C) is roller type. （Table key (5-division action, same as earlier model). Accessories: mouthpiece (Crampon rubber), hard case, case cover, serial number 37xxx, made in 1987.
[Condition.]
Small shallow dent on the back of the U-tube and diagonally above the strap ring >fixed. Part of the key (table G♯side B♭Low E♭and octave). Other than that, there are only a few minor scratches, and the instrument is in excellent condition, showing no signs of age. All pads (CHANU plastic resonator), felts, and corks have been replaced and overhauled.

Crampon saxophones such as the Prestige and, more recently, the Senzo, with their copper tubing, have attracted a lot of attention, but the orthodox brass S1 has also earned a reputation as a hidden gem. Although the pitch is a little quirky (*), the bright, soft sound that spreads out over the player's head is uniquely appealing. (The middle Do is a little low and the lower So is high)
