Here is a fantastic example of one of the finest Burns electric guitars ever built! Top professional quality!
She came from an Irish collector who had relocated to Europe. I took her in trade 2 years ago and am selling at a loss for a quick sale. She is in top collector’s grade condition and sounds and plays like new. Awesome 60‘s “Burns split sound”!!! She even has her original case in top shape. Extreme rarity!
Below is the write up as I bought her from her previous owner:
For sale is a beautiful and rare vintage Burns London Split Sonic and Original case in “Near Mint” condition.
This guitar doesn't look like it's ever been played much and probably spent most of the last 55 years under someone's bed. Almost new condition, hardly played (sitting in a case all its life). The 2 colour sunburst finish is outstanding. This stunning looking guitar has all its original parts so will appreciate in value. A good investment and a very well made guitar.
Production of the Split Sonic began in 1962 and ended in 1964. “Jazz” setting is the neck pickup, “Treble” is the bridge pickup, “Wild Dog” is out of phase, “Split Sound” is the bass side of the neck pickup and the treble side of the bridge pickup (Unique). Useful for finger picking or “The House Of The Rising Sun”. That is certainly the vibe and tone from this wonderful guitar. These burns Tri-Sonic pickups were used in Brian May’s self designed “Red Special” guitar.
She has great tone and plays beautifully. All of the vintage warmth with a crisp, clear high end. This is a good, well made guitar with a nice design and finish. “Vintage Pure”.
With these vintage guitars continuing to climb in value, here's a very good addition for your collection that will likely be a good investment for years to come.
Neck is straight, frets freshly dressed and good, Low Playing Easy Action. No breaks, issues or repairs. The guitar has new strings and has been given a professional setup and is intonated.
Price is firm.
