Description
Up for sale, a 1966 Kalamazoo Model Two tube amplifier in excellent condition and recently serviced! Manufactured by CMI (the parent company of Gibson from 1944-69), the Kalamazoo amps were designed as a quality tube amp on a budget to pair with Gibson's "student" guitars like the Melody Maker. The simple Model One is a great sounding, Class A tube amp that delivers plenty of sizzle and grit through the original alnico CTS 10" speaker. Point-to-point wired, the Model Two differs from its little brother (the Model One) by boasting the addition of a bias-based tremolo circuit that has a strong, throbbing pulse. This amplifier sounds great for guitar, and is also sought after by harp players for its great bark and quick attack.

The circuit has been well maintained and serviced where necessary, with a couple smaller new components to keep the power supply working as it should and the tremolo chopping away. The original Sprague Black Beauty tone capacitors, CTS pots, and carbon comp resistors intact. The original transformers are present with 1966 date codes, and the original two-prong power cable is still installed on the amp. The alnico magnet 10" CTS speaker has its original cone with an immaculate "Kalamazoo Model Two" badge on the speaker magnet.

Cosmetically, this amp shows only very faint wear on the corners of the cabinet, which still has its original deep gray covering and light gray grillcloth. The faceplate is in great shape with clean graphics and original knobs.

This amp boasts a simple and pure circuit, stocked with NOS tubes and ready to be played!
