SN: 31429. This guitar has everything a great vintage guitar should have – tremendous bass, mids, trebles, response, sustain, volume — and curb appeal. The large body – very near the size of a dreadnought – and the 25.4” scale provide drive and power. The impeccable Adirondack top responds to the lightest fingerpicking or the most forceful right hand. The 1 7/8” nut and wide string spacing at the bridge make this the fingerpicker’s go-to guitar. The neck has the 20’s-style V, light radius of the board and just a bit of wear from the thumb in the first position. It’s a beauty and a beast. I don’t often see them in this condition. While there is light to moderate playwear, the top is still clean and bright. The rosewood binding is intact, mahogany back and sides show light wear consistent with the top. The inside is very clean with all ribs and bridge plate original and intact. I can find no cracks or repairs anywhere. It has had the usual maintenance – a professional neck reset to the perfect, a refret with vintage style bar frets (not the chunkier ones I’m starting to see), and a forgery-quality replacement bridge. Tuners are original and in excellent working condition. The bridge pins I dare say are original also. Call or email with any additional questions. Do not be fooled by the plain Jane appearance. This is, to some, the pinnacle of Martin’s guitar design and if you can live with the wide nut and string spacing the rewards are tremendous. Comes with a newer hardshell Martin case.
