Description

SN. 265007. This is a one-owner 000-18 from 1970 that is in excellent condition overall showing very little wear and no damage. Solid mahogany back and sides, solid Sitka spruce top, Brazilian rosewood fret board and bridge, solid mahogany neck. The top is exceptionally tight grained and very well quartered. The guitar came into my shop needing a neck reset and a pickguard crack repair as well as a pickguard reglue, all of which have been done. In addition, the original Grover slimline tuners were not functioning well at all so I retrofitted the guitar to have 60s Grover G-98 "stay-tites", which was a tuner common to Martin smaller body instruments for many years. They are functionally much better than the original Grovers and while not as tight as new Waverlys they keep the vintage vibe intact. The original Grover tuners will accompany the guitar. The top, back and sides are crack free other than the aforementioned pickguard crack that is under the B string and has been repaired. The original finish is very clean showing only a few minor dings here and there. The interior bracing is all intact and secure, the original bridge plate (small rosewood) is in excellent condition. The Brazilian rosewood fret board and bridge are in great shape as are the frets, showing very little wear. The neck is straight under tension and the top flat. The action measures 6/64" at the low E and 5/64" at the high E with good saddle height. Nice woody tone from this one, great little finger picker. Comes with a non-original hard case. $2250 More pics available on request. Please note that I do not ship outside the US.  My shipping quote is intended to cover me for shipping to the west coast (I'm in the east), if you purchase and shipping turns out to be significantly less than the quoted rate I will refund the difference.
