The pickguard has been replaced on this old D-28 but everything else is original. The guitar has a repaired pick guard crack under the B string (glued and cleated), and has had a neck reset (at Kovacik Guitars about 10 years ago). I also think that at some point in the past the guitar had the saddle slot widened slightly and a compensated saddle installed, most likely do deal with an intonation issue, which seems to have been effective since the intonation is good all over the neck. The original finish shows minor scrapes, dings, scratches and signs of handling from 40+ years of play but overall is in very good condition. The top is flat under tension with no belly, the bridge is secure to the top. The frets are in very good shape, the guitar was refretted when the neck was reset in the shop and I don't think it has had much play since then so the frets are tall. The board shows some wear but no deep divots. The neck is straight under tension and the action is set at 6/64" and 5/64" at the 12th fret with just under 1/8" of saddle showing. Nice action for fingerstyle or flat picking (if you aren't too aggressive), plays all over the neck with no buzz. If you are a heavy handed flat picker you might want the action raised. The guitar sounds great when flat picked, good sound for bluegrass ensemble play or vocal back up. There is a K & K Pure mini pickup installed in the guitar and a strap pin in the side of the heel. Comes with a non-original hard shell case. $2500
