SN 47793. Very fine playing and sounding shade top OM-18 from early 1933. The ‘31s are for collecting but the ‘32s and ‘33s are for playing. This one has had plenty of playwear as seen in the photos but is still architecturally solid. It has the 25 1/4” scale, a 1 ¾” nut with the wider string spacing at the bridge, small position markers on the neck, stenciled logo and stamp on the back of the neck, original tuners and original small rectangular bridge plate. The neck profile is a very comfortable modified V. I’ve had the neck reset and refretted. A new exact repro bridge was required – the old bridge had been compromised by lowering. The action is medium low with plenty of saddle to go lower. The work was done by Mark Tossman. There are no cracks but one small patch about ½” square in the butt end, probably from a pickup jack. A fun guitar to play with tremendous clarity, nuance, and complexity. A fine fingerpicker that responds well to a pick. Comes with an older TKL case in solid condition.
