2016 Caleb Smith Per-war OM Brazilian/Red Spruce
C B Smith pre-war style OM in solid Brazilian rosewood and Red Spruce, #34 from 2016. Faithful to Martin's golden era designs, this lightly built long scale 000 has forward shifted traditional scalloped X bracing, herringbone top trim and 'zipper' back strip, and (I believe) hide glue construction. There are some signs of light finish wear, at the edges of the base of the headstock where a capo was rested regularly and at the treble corner of the bridge where there is some pick wear to the finish on the top. Also, the finish on the back shows some light imprinting from either a strap, case upholstery/lining or something else, can be seen in a few of the pics. This is minor at best and would wet-sand/buff out with minor effort. There is one short (1 1/2") repaired back crack near the edge at the waist that looks like it may have been present since the guitar was new, as the touch up looks like it is part of the original finish. Can't get it to show up in the pics. The neck has a gentle "V" profile consistent with Martin's pre-war neck shape, very faithful reproduction, with a 1 3/4" nut width. Pin spacing at the bridge is 2 5/16. Action set at 7/64 at the low E and 6/64" at the high E, plays comfortably for flat picking or finger style. Saddle height just under 1/8". Fabulous sounding guitar for flat picking, vocal accompaniment, fingerstyle solo work, very versatile. Has an LR Baggs Lyric bridge plate microphone/pickup installed with volume control inside the soundhole. Comes with original Harptone hard case.
