Carlo Robelli was for some time the guitar house brand of Sam Ash Music stores. Although the brand has seen many models at many price points and build qualities, this batch of mid-90’s Korean made arch-tops were among their most prudent buys and have become a sought after and still affordable alternative for those who want to put a big box arch-top, albeit a laminated one, in there stable. It is our understanding that these instruments were manufactured in Korea by Samick who were also manufacturing the tapered body Epiphone Joe Pass II model which was essentially the same guitar excepting the hardware which was at a lower price point on the Carlo. That’s where this example gets interesting as all of the hardware has been substantially upgraded. The tuners are Gold Grover Imperials. The Tailpiece is a Gibson Diamond. The bridge is unbranded and we are not sure of its manufacture but it is of high quality and fully adjustable. The Pickups are APC humbuckers wired for coil tap and phase reversal. She has a light action and a lovely tone which bellies her provenance. As an added bonus all of the original hardware is included in the sale, including the original Gibson Byrdland-like Tailpiece, the pick guard, pick-ups, and tuners, all of it except the old wood bridge. She is very clean showing minimal play-ware and will ship with her original Sam Ash gig bag.
We can use any of the major carriers you choose but will generally use UPS Ground. Shipping rates do not include insurance, but we encourage its use. Under no circumstances will we lower the cost of an instrument for international shipping purposes. Seriously. Don’t Ask. In sales of bolt-on neck guitars that do not ship with a hard shell case we will be happy to remove the neck and save you a little on the shipping cost. We ship to U.S. addresses only. No P.O. Boxes. We will always pack your item to the highest standards, if you have any preferences, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
In the unlikely event that you should want to return a guitar, please contact us. We want you to be happy, but we don’t want to eat a bowl of return shipping because ‘somebody’ made you send her back. If you get my meaning. Ahem. If, from the sale date, less than 14 days has gone by and you can rationally argue that the pictures were unclear or that we were inaccurate in our description than we will do our best to make it right. This usually means that lukewarm bowl of return shipping we mentioned earlier. Always remember we are talking about guitars here, and you being happy about one at that, so just contact us, we’ll sort it out.
