1927 Martin 00-28 guitar SN. 37517
Recently acquired out of a pawn shop, this 00-28 is all original (including pins) with the exception of the saddle. The guitar has had a recent neck reset and fret dress, as well as having the bridge reglued, a bridge crack repaired, and a top crack repair. All the work was done with hide glue. That top crack is the only body crack in the guitar, no back or side cracks. The top show signs of having had stickers (star shaped, and I think one flag shaped, though I'm just judging by the outline) on the top (see pics) and it once had a non-Martin pickguard on it. You can see some of the outline of this pick guard as there is wear on the top at the edges of where the guard used to be and there is a slight 'shadow' or visible foot print of the shape of the guard. This is visible in the pics. The back and side finish shows some surface scratches and dings but nothing beyond the superficial. The neck finish shows some wear through to the wood in the first position, see pics. The guitar shows no significant top deflection or bridge rotation under tension and the neck is very straight as well. All interior bracing is original, secure and in good shape. The scale length is 24.9", nut width is 1 7/8" and the pin spacing 2 3/8". the original Waverly WG-31 "Oak Leaf" tuners are in great working order with one bent shaft (the D string) that doesn't impact function. The action is set for finger style (6/64" and 5/64") with a solid 1/8" of saddle showing. Intonation is good. The guitar has a big, woody voice. Excellent for finger style but also a great strummer for vocal accompaniment. The guitar comes with a new TKL hard shell case. $12,500

If an item is going to be returned it is at the buyer's expense and the item must be shipped within 24 hours of the buyer notifying Kovacik Guitars of intent to return. Any returned items must be shipped in the original packaging and MUST be fully insured when returned. Once an item is returned to Kovacik Guitars and judged to be in the same condition as when originally sold a full refund will be issued.
