Model based on the Strat used by Joe Perry in the 80's
Hidetoshi Shiino, who is well known for his work with ESP and Vestax, established Shiino Gakki Design Office in 1977, and opened PACO in Shibuya as his directly managed store. At that time, Chandler was manufactured under license at PACO because Vestax, founded by Mr. Shiino, was its distributor. This Chandler is a model from that time, which is also known as the model that Joe Perry actually used, and it is believed to have been made following the model he used during his solo career in the 80's, which was an unpainted guitar with a left-handed Strat body and a left-handed Telecaster neck.
It is equipped with a lipstick pickup with very good treble dropout and a unique airy sound, and has a more gorgeous sound than a regular Stratocaster. The neck is thin with little taper. The neck is thin with little taper, and the overall pitch is stable due to the reverse head that allows the low strings to be long.
