I believe this Model 3 started life as a white guitar, but as you can clearly see, that is no longer the case. We purchased this guitar from a client and when it arrived, the surprises just kept on coming, but in a good way.
To begin, this guitar has been professionally refinished in a stunning Tangerine Metallic and as an added bonus, it has a matching headstock. Looks pretty snappy under the lights. The humbucker pickup ring and jackplate are purple sparkle and add a certain "flair" to the guitar. These could easily be switched out to black ones, but I left it as is in case you get a gig with Cirque du Solei. Then, you'll be just as snappy as the guitar.
The pickups are EMG SAs in the neck and middle position and an EMG 81 in the bridge. I probably don't even have to tell you how good this thing sounds and the neck is super thin and fast- much like those killer old Yamaha Pacificas made back in the '80s. If you like those old Wizard-type necks, then you'll fall deeply in love with this one. The tremolo is a new Gotoh GE1996T Floyd Rose style with a 33mm block. It works flawlessly and should be the standard bearer in the world of new trems.
When we got the guitar, it had no case. I have a couple of gigbags lying around, but this thing is so cool, I thought it should at least be housed in a brand-new Charvel padded gigbag and that's exactly what she will arrive in. I also threw in a 1987 Charvel catalog that lays out the specs from the American and IMC models from that year. A little extra case candy never hurts the package...
As to condition, the guitar shows no signs of playwear and is exceptionally clean. There is one small ding on the back, behind the trem cover and the very tip of the headstock is gone, gone, gone. Probably a victim of playing with a drummer who has to have 15 crash cymbals that take up half the practice room. I've seen it with my own eyes, folks and it's never pretty. It's headstock abuse, I tell ya.
The guitar has been detailed, restrung with fresh strings and set up for optimal playing performance. We'll pack her up safe and sound to arrive alive, so please feel free to call or email with any questions and as always, thanks for stopping by!
