2019 Collings 02H T 12-Fret Torrefied Top, Collings Handmade Case
Offered is this awesome little Collings, an 02H Traditional with a Baked Sitka top built in 2019. This lovely acoustic comes in one of the fabulous and now discontinued Collings handmade cases.
At just 38" long and 13 7/16" wide at the lower bout, this diminutive instrument is small in size but big in it's output! This 12-fret guitar has a 24 7/8" string scale, a 1.75" nut width and 2 5/16" string spacing. The top is Torrefied Sikta Spruce with Collings Traditional series bracing. The back and sides are lovely straight-grained East Indian Rosewood. The neck shape is Collings 'Modified V', with depth measurements on this one of .84" at the 1st and .94" at the 12th.
The guitar's short scale makes it very easy to play and it's 12-fret geometry positions the sound hole to make the most of the small body's output. It's an amazingly responsive and powerful little package with a full and balanced output. Please check out the brief sound sample provided. I've also included a link to a video of a similarly equipped 02H T in action. The baked Spruce top and the Traditional bracing contribute to its rich voice and give it a more open sound than you might expect from a guitar that has seen limited play. It is setup perfectly with 12th fret string heights of 6/64" on the bass side and 4/64" on the treble side. Its small size makes it extremely comfortable to play and you will want to keep it close by your favorite chair.
This guitar is in great shape save for a few light and very hard to find cosmetic flaws which I've pictured. The frets look like new. It comes to you in a fabulous Collings handmade case which is in mint condition. These incredible cases cost $995 apiece when you could get them. The prohibitively high cost of production resulted in their discontinuation.
A new example of this guitar with the Torrified top and a very nice but far less expensive TKL case would cost you $6,500 if ordered today. Get this lightly played 2019 for substantially less and it comes with the incredible Collings case. An extremely nice small scale instrument with a surprisingly big sonic punch! Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
