In nice custom package but with some damage. Okay - let's get the obvious out of the way (not the ding). These are not unlike the famous pre-war Gibson L-O models. Narrow-waisted mahogany body for a precise and focused response. It has a nice rounded neck like a late '50s Gibson. Sitka spruce top, Honduran mahogany body, 1 & 11/16" nut, 25.5" scale length with pre-war scalloped X braces. This one has options: Black lacquer top with the famous "doghair" finish on the back and sides. Pearl pickguard and headstock overlay really make it pop, as does the little extra top binding. The sound is fantastic. This would be over $6,500 new. What? What ding? Oh...that ding. Well, the previous owner is a carpenter and dropped a tool on the top. It's ugly but no structural damage. We'll let you tell any story you want...it looks like it stopped a bullet but you can see daylight. This is a killer guitar, and a little black lacquer will work wonders. We chose to leave it as is so it has a more honest presentation. It sounds and plays great. Of course it does - it's a Collings. You can play it as is - no other repairs are needed. You can touch it up with a black marker, a patch, or a whole new top (not advised) or be smart and take it on the road, put a sticker over the hole, and brag about how great your guitar sounds. Made before Bill Collings passed away, so signed label (they still have unmatched quality). With original hard case.
