Serial # 20444. A devastatingly good guitar, this lefty Collings C10 Short Scale is both exquisite to look at and heaven to play. It’s a guitar that was sold new through Folkway a few years back, and was ordered with short scale neck, sunburst finish, and 1-3/4” nut to emulate a 30’s Gibson L-00, before Collings introduced the C10-35. What it wasn’t ordered as was left handed though – that part we took care of here!

The guitar is in perfect condition. The lefty conversion was done with left handed bridge and pickguard supplied by Collings, and the work looks factory. Side dots added to match the righty side, new bone nut and compensated saddle by us. The instrument plays like a dream, and really does look spectacular.

In the tone department this C10 has everything going on as well. There’s magic in that short scale, and the lefty stringing on righty bracing coaxes more warmth in the trebles – making the guitar sound older than it is. The mid range is clear, focused, and supportive, and the basses are particularly open and present. The guitar has sustain for days, and an incredible sweetness when played gently. Dig in and it has the horsepower of a big guitar, with huge power and cut to shine though in a jam setting. Yes, I’m left-handed, and I’ve spent all too much time playing this guitar today...

Apart from the conversion, the guitar is in near-mint condition. Frets are unworn, finish is without scratches, there are no repairs or issues of any kind.

Scalloped-braced Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, short scale neck with ebony fingerboard, 1-3/4” nut, and 2-3/16” string spacing at the bridge. Sunburst finish, ivoroid body bindings and rosette, Waverly tuning machines, mother of pearl accents.

With original hardshell case.
