Description

The City Limits is Collings' take on the Les Paul Standard, but with a build quality that Gibson can only dream about. This guitar is the Deluxe version of the City Limits, one which was built in 2008 but almost looks new. The specs of this beautiful guitar include: a mahogany body and neck with a flame maple top and a total guitar weight of just 8.0 pounds; a high gloss nitrocellulose amber sunburst finish; a Madagascar rosewood fretboard with 24-7/8" scale length, 12" radius, 1-11/16" bone nut and medium frets; a medium/fat "C" shape neck similar to a '59 LP; long mortise/tenon neck joint; fully-adjustable truss rod; grained ivroid binding on the top, neck and headstock; ebony headstock overlay with inlaid logo; MOP parallelogram fretboard inlays; ivoroid pickup rings and top hat knobs; Lollar Imperial humbuckers with CTS pots and Xicon caps; Tonepros AVR-II bridge and tailpiece; Sperzel tuners with vintage style buttons; and a deluxe hardshell case by Ameritage. Like most Collings instruments, this guitar almost plays itself it is set up so nicely. The tone is very LP-like, only better! This guitar is in great condition, showing only the slightest evidence of play and the frets are nearly flawless too. It comes in it's original Collings/Ameritage case, also in superb condition. A new example of this guitar comparatively equipped will cost you almost $5K. Get this gorgeous 2008 example for substantially less. This guitar will quickly make you forget about your Les Paul.....
