2019 Collings I-35 Deluxe Iced Tea Premium Quilt Top, Zircote FB with Inlay Upgrade
Offered for sale is this fabulous 2019 Collings I-35 Deluxe. This model is the flagship of the Collings I-35 line and is easily one of the finest semi-hollow electrics currently being manufactured.
This version of the I-35 has a solid (not laminated) carved Maple top with binding. This one has an upgraded quilt Maple top, a $450 upgrade. It is finished in gloss 'Iced Tea' nitro lacquer. The neck is Collings' C-shape, this one measuring .845" at the first fret, increasing to .965" at the twelfth fret. The gorgeous dark figured fretboard on this guitar is made from Zircote, a custom touch we have never come across before, along with optional ($250) parallelogram inlays and grained ivoroid binding and trim. The bone nut has a width of 1-11/16", the fretboard radius is 12" and the guitar weighs just 7.0lbs. The electronics include Lollar Low Wind humbuckers with a traditional 50's style wiring setup (2 vol/2 tone/3 way). The bridge and tailpiece are nickel-plated TonePros.
The build quality, playability and tone of these guitars is amazing. While many builders make a 335-style guitar, this is perhaps the best of all, regardless of price. It sounds very similar to an ES-335, but plays oh so much better and there is no comparing the build quality!
This superb instrument is in near mint condition, with little to no evidence of play, frets included. It has no flaws of any significance. Included is the original Collings/Ameritage case, also in superb condition.
A new example of this guitar with these upgrades will now cost you an astounding $8K, but they are worth every penny. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery.
