2017 Collings I-35 LC with Lollar Low Winds Faded Cherry
We may sell more Collings I-35's than any other guitar model, and with good reason; they are consistently superb and likely the best semi-hollow electric on the market. Offered here is an I-35 LC built in 2017 and in near new condition.
Being an 'LC' (laminated construction) model I-35, this instrument has a laminated Maple body which many players prefer to the more expensive solid wood I-35's because it resists feedback a bit better and has a slightly more "focused" tone. This beauty is finished in Faded Cherry nitrocellulose lacquer and is marvelously figured - both front and back. It is light even for an I-35, weighing just 6.5 pounds. Collings now gives this model both neck and body binding, but otherwise their successful formula has not changed much. It has a 24-7/8" string scale neck and a medium/fat C-shape neck with depth measurements of .860" at the first fret and .980" at the twelfth fret. The Indian Rosewood fretboard has a 12" radius, a 1-11/16" nut, medium frets and dot inlays. The electronics on this guitar consist of Lollar Low Wind Imperial humbuckers, DiMarzio 500k pots, Vintage Yellow caps and a 50's style wiring setups. The bridge is by Kluson and the tuners are Gotohs with custom black buttons installed. The original ivoroid tuner buttons are also included.
Play this guitar and you recognize that while it is based on the 335 formula, this guitar has been built with a precision that Gibson has not been able to match. Like virtually all the guitars Collings builds, this I-35 feels like it was carved from a single piece of wood. The playability is worthy of a guitar costing far more. The tone matches or exceeds that of most any ES model out there. Check out the brief sound sample below for a taste.
This guitar is in near mint condition with no flaws of any significance and the frets are spotless. A few light pick scuffs on the pickguard are about all you will find. It comes in it's original Collings/Ameritage case, also in near mint condition, along with the certificate of authenticity.

Shipping to Continental US addresses is via FedEx Ground, with flat rate shipping of $60 to Eastern time zones, $70 Central and $80 Mountain/Pacific. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is $100. Refunds of the original purchase price less shipping and a 10% restocking fee may be requested within 48 hours of delivery. Exchanges within one (1) week of the original date of purchase may be made for an item of equal or greater value at the discretion of Capital Guitars. Where permitted herein, items must be promptly returned at the buyer's expense, in the same condition as received with all accessories and paperwork included. Sale items, purchases that are made via layaway, those involving trades and/or international shipping are considered final except upon an error by and at the discretion of Capital Guitars.
