American type cornet made by KENON in France,"DEPOSÉ"DEPOS É" model

[Summary]
Kennon B♭Cornet, DEPOSÉ model(*). 120mm two-piece yellowbrass bell. Lacquer finish. Weight 1056 grams, probably made around 1950. No case. Sold only the body.
The name "MODELE DEPOSÉ" indicates that this instrument has been registered as a trademark. This is not the original model name, but it is commonly referred to as the DEPOSÉ model.

[Condition.]
The lacquer paint is peeling off except for the bell tip, tuning tube, and part of the valve casing. The finger rest of the 3rd plunger has been modified from movable to fixed (the finger rest ring is another maker's part, and the base has been moved). The finger rest ring is a part of another maker.) The inside of the pipe has been cleaned, soft parts replaced, serviced, and adjusted. Some of the piston plating has peeled off, and the airtightness is a little loose, but this will not affect normal playing if you use viscous valve oil.

[Features/Attractions]
An American-type long-bell cornet made by the long-established French wind instrument maker Kenon. Like the Kenon trumpet of the same model name, as DEPOSÉ means, the design of this model has a distinctive piston spring casing that has acquired a registered trademark, and the engraving MODELE DEPOSÉ is applied to that part. The piston spring is contained inside a tubular nickel-white casing and is not visible from the outside; C.G.CONN's Constellation has a similar piston structure, but this one seems to be a pioneer. The cornet used by Lee Morgan around 1960 is believed to be the DEPOSÉ model by Kenon. It has a fat sound with a low center of gravity that is distinctly different from the traditional French cornet.
