Description

If a super-high quality, hand-built semi-hollow guitar suits your fancy, then please read on. Offered here is a CP Thornton Elite built in 2009 and in great condition. We are big fans of this model. So much so, in fact, that as of this writing we have two (2) in stock.

The Elite is a thin, semi-hollow electric with an arched top and back and a lower bout just under 14" wide. Instead of a separate center block, the Elite's neck continues through the body to provide for maximum resonance, structural rigidity, a place to mount the pickups and bridge and serves to minimize acoustic feedback. The Elite is built with solid flame Maple, rather than laminated wood. The flame Maple neck has a medium C-shape with depth measurements of .84" at the first fret increasing to .90" at the twelfth. It has an Ebony fretboard with a 12" radius, 6150 frets, a 1.75" nut and this one has very nice MOP and diamond lays. The electronics include Lollar Low Wind Imperials along with two volume and two tone controls, a three-way toggle and high quality pots and caps. The ABM bridge is by Faber and the tailpiece by Resomax. The tuners are Gotoh 510's with Ebony buttons. It is finished in a gorgeous honeyburst nitro finish with gold hardware and weighs just 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

The Elite is a work of luthier art. It is beautiful to behold and incredibly well put together. It has the feel of a high-quality jazz box and plays like a guitar costing thousands of dollars more. The tone is a mix of ES335 and Les Paul - check out the brief sound sample provided and I think you will agree. From jazz to fusion to rock, this is a guitar that can do it all.

This guitar was built in 2009 and remains in fabulous condition. The only flaws of any significance can be found on the bridge pickup cover and the bridge itself where a bit of oxidation has worn off the gold finish (see photo). Otherwise this guitar is in near mint conditon, frets included. It comes in it's original TKL / CP Thornton case, also in great shape.

I understand that Chuck now gets over $6K for one of these fine guitars. This fabulous example in superb condition can be yours for substantially less. This is one superb hand-built semi-hollow electric at a killer price. Make it yours!
